My name is Raj and I am pursuing my Master of Science in Information Science from
the School of Computing and Information at the University of Pittsburgh.
Talking about myself and some of my leadership skills and some additional details
makes me happy and smile due to the variety of great experiences I have had over my
school and college years. Every opportunity I've got to do something for the students,
people and the society is a something which I will cherish all my life. I was very active
in college extracurricular activities and have demonstrated creativity, strong
leadership, and event management skills. I have shown leadership in organising
various national level events.
As Organizing Group Head for KJSCE Students' Council, I organized many events
across the year like Abhiyantriki, a national level technical festival; Skream, a national
inter-collegiate competition, and Symphony, our college's cultural festival to name a
few. I was instrumental in organizing competitive events like hackathons, and paper
presentations. I was also active in organizing the Tech Expo at Abhiyantriki which
included various national agencies participating like the Defence Research and
Development Organization (DRDO), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Bhabha
Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Indian
Army, Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force among others. I was also active in
communicating and convincing companies to participate in placement fairs and
sponsorships. Not only technical but in terms of cultural, we have hosted artists like
Amit Trivedi, Vishal and Shekar, Benny Dayal, Nucleya and many other musical
greats. Among the other things as part of KJSCE Students' Council, I did beach
cleanup, books and clothes donation to orphanages and also a Railway Station
makeover to name a few as part of the Parvaah initiative.
My leadership and event management skills were recognized by many companies and
colleges by making me a Brand Ambassador and Campus Ambassador. Some of these
places where I was a Brand Ambassador include companies like OnePlus, Google,
MG, Xiaomi, Realme, Uber and Thomas Cook India; and places I was a Campus and
College Ambassador were Techfest, IIT Bombay; Techkriti, IIT Kanpur; Technovanza,
VJTI; ShARE World Seminar; Padarth, IIT Bombay; and Wooplr.
